Harry Fellingham was born in Ipswich on 24th February 1897 [Marine records] (Ipswich Q1-1897 4A:925), baptised in St Matthew's, Ipswich on 31st March 1897, son of Frederick Arthur
and Delilah FELLINGHAM (née STANNARD).
1901 census...Aged 4, he was at 38 Riverside Road, Ipswich with his father Frederick A FELLINGHAM [25], labourer born Mendlesham; his mother Deliliah [28] born Brockford; sister Delilah [8 months] born Ipswich. His mother died in 1907 in Ipswich and his father re married in Ipswich in 1908 to Eliza SCUFFINS 1911 census...Aged 14, an assistant domestic gardener, he was at 14 Millcroft Road, Soham with his father, stepmother Eliza [37] born Winston, Suffolk; sister Delilah and half sisters Eliza [11] born Ipswich and Ada [8 months] born Soham.
The pension card has his mother Eliza at 12 Millcroft Road,Soham, but later moving to Broome, Eye, Suffolk.

He enlisted in London on 23rd March 1915, giving his date of birth as 24th February 1897 in All Saints, Ipswich, Indoor servant and Church of England, father F. 12 Millcroft Road, Soham, Cambs. 5 feet 6 inches (167.6 cm) tall, blue eyes,light brown hair. posted to Recruit Depot, Deal, No.19815 he was posted to Chatham Division on 23rd September. Embarked for MEF on 16th February 1916 (per HMT "Olympic" and arrived Mudros 24th February 1916 and posted to Victory R.M. Brigade at Stavros 28th February 1916, then was ill, The battalion went to France in May 1916. He rejoined 1st Royal Marine Battalion 17th November 1916 and was posted missing in action and assumed dead 17th February 1917 The battle at the time was Miraumont, which claimed the lives of 81 of Harry's battalion that day.
